ABSTRACT: This research investigates the benefits of early childhood education in promoting recycling practices among young children. Early exposure to recycling can lead to lifelong sustainable behaviors. Objectives were to assess children's understanding of recycling, identify effective educational practices, and evaluate the long-term impacts of early recycling education. A survey design was chosen for its capacity to gather detailed data. Purposive sampling was used to select 200 children from preschools in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that children exposed to recycling education demonstrated better understanding and practice of recycling behaviors. Activities such as recycling projects, interactive lessons on waste management, and community recycling initiatives were particularly effective. The study recommended integrating recycling education into early childhood programs to promote recycling practices from an early age.
